How to measure your dog for a harness
Choosing a harness size
Measure around the widest part of your dog’s chest and compare it with the harness size chart above. If your dog’s measurements fall between sizes, contact us before ordering so we can help you choose a comfortable fit. Don’t rely on size alone: check the fit once the harness is on.
Quick harness fit check
Check that the chest strap sits around the widest part of the chest without restricting breathing or movement. The front of the harness should sit below the throat, not ride up against the neck. Adjust each strap so the harness sits evenly, with no twists or gaps.
For a final check, you should be able to slide two fingers under each strap without forcing them. Gently check that the harness cannot easily slip over your dog’s shoulders or head, especially if your dog tends to back out of a harness. If it shifts or slips, readjust it and check the fit again before heading out. No harness can replace supervision and a secure lead.
